Matiu Ratana was a New Zealand-born British police sergeant. He moved to England in 1989, working for the Metropolitan Police for nearly 30 years. He will be always remembered as Big generous lion's heart. As a police officer He has brought amazing energy and determination to the job, as to his life. He will be forever in our thoughts and in our hearts. This award is in memory and remembrance of his selfless sacrifice,courage and service.
