World Humanitarian Drive (WHD) was founded by Abdul Basit who was inspired to initiate the idea of this charity following the murder of a British Soldier Lee Rigby in Greenwich. WHD has made huge strides in this field and made important links with Faith Leaders, other charities, and Government Organizations across the world, to combat Violence, Extremism, and Radicalization and to Promote Peace through Education, Sports, Arts and Media and instill humanistic values in our community, particularly amongst the youth who are the most vulnerable.
WHD has come together as a group of like-minded individuals whose combined skills will work together supporting the mission, vision and values of the charity. WHD aims to use positive strategies to help and inspire communities to be empowered in the quality of life through street campaign, seminars, and events using the expertise of professionals in the field of medicine, legal knowledge, finance, education and other related areas important for community engagement, and interfaith understanding and peace. Outstanding contributions by young talents and individuals shall be recognized on a yearly basis to develop role models and leaders within communities striving ultimately for a better world.
